Iconic street artist Shepard Fairey has influenced millions with his subversive art, including people ranging from skateboarders to the President of the United States. His instantly recognizable style and color palette were developed during his formative years as a skateboarder and DIY artist, cutting his own stencils from cardboard and later rubylith film to burn his own silk screens.

Today the artist runs fine art and commercial studios in Los Angeles, California, where he produces art for his own art exhibitions, and lends his talents to philanthropic and political causes.

New Deal founders Professor Schmitt and Andy Howell dipped into the artist's studio, nicknamed “The Duece,”  in Los Angeles last week, to bring him a few NEW DEAL x SHEPARD FAIREY Artist Edition decks hot off the presses, as well as catch an insider's glimpse into his process and latest works of art.

In this full length edit, Shepard Fairey talks shop on stencils, layered collage techniques, ollie leverage, as he walks us through his studio and shares his process on a few of his newest "in-progress" paintings.

This video captures a rare and intimate conversation with one of the most prolific artists in the world, on just another day at the studios.

NEW DEAL x SHEPARD FAIREY Artist Edition Deck, Art Print, and T-Shirt dropping September 28th 2020, at 3:43pm, on the 1 year anniversary of the NEW DEAL 1990 Exhibition at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles CA.
